THE GOSPEL

The gospel is the good news that God in His grace has provided salvation for all of mankind and offers salvation as a free gift. Any person can receive the gift of salvation by believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is their Savior. Salvation is obtained by faith alone in Christ alone.

Jesus Christ is God who took on flesh. He lived a perfect life free from sin. Then He went to the cross to pay for the sins of all mankind. He was the only man ever qualified to pay for the sins of others. Anyone can now use their free will to believe that His payment for their sins was enough to save them from the lake of fire.

This is verified by my translations from the Greek text: John 3:16 “For in this way God loved the world so much that He gave His uniquely born Son in order that whoever believes in Him shall never perish (in the lake of fire), but have everlasting life.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by God’s grace you have been saved so that you will forever be saved through your faith in Christ Jesus, and that salvation is not of yourselves, that salvation is the gift of God and not the results of works, so that no one may boast.”

The good news is the object of your faith the Lord Jesus Christ provides the only way to heaven. Salvation and service must be separated. Adding service as a part of salvation negates receiving God’s free gift. Believing in Jesus in order to receive salvation is something you do once. If you think living a good life, turning from sin, being baptized in water, joining a church, or making Christ Lord of your life is a part of salvation then you do not have salvation. Salvation is something you do once in your mind and you are born spiritually into God’s family. Salvation is the most important decision you will ever make. Make the decision to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved forever.

One does not work to receive salvation, and one does not work to keep salvation. Salvation is received by faith in Jesus Christ. It is permanent and cannot be lost. Christ said, “…and I give eternal life to them and they shall never perish…” (John 10:28a).

Service and spiritual growth after salvation are important for securing eternal rewards. But service and spiritual growth cannot be accomplished until you receive the gift of salvation by faith alone in Christ alone.
